Sir David Attenborough shares DNA haplogroup E1b1b with Ramses III, William Harvey, John C. Calhoun, Giuseppe Garibaldi, Albert Einstein, Churchill, Hitler, Wilbur and Irville Wright, Kafka, Lyndon Johnson, Nelson Mandela, Francis Ford Coppola, and Nicolas Cage his nephew. E1b1b, which enjoyed a very energetic and creative early surge some forty six thousand years ago out of Africa has been found among the Natufians, probably the earliest to harvest grains, make beer, and domesticate horses.

Great as always, must say that since the advent of Covid we have worked on quite a few major natural history productions remotely( we are Entomological consultants and wranglers) , and must say I think this is a great way forward , helping to reduce our carbon footprints and unnecessary travel in preproduction and even during some shoots we have worked remotely as advisers to get the shots.

How gently and with astounding patience he goes day after day after day like a true devotee and yes subsequently he gets the enlightenment that he deserved. Looking forward to more such wonders. God bless

Does Chris Peckham realise that Sir Peter Scott was a fanatical wildfowler. Goodness knows how many thousands of shore birds he killed. Remember in those days snipe curlew and many other waders were killed and eaten. Had he not been a shooter then all this conservation would not have happened. So trying to label shooters as evil is wrong.

I've watched Jago: A Life Underwater, at least three times now, and, just watching clips along with the comments of the filmmakers is still mesmerizing. It's beautiful, riveting, and lovingly shows the harmonious relationship the Badjao have with the sea and the life in it. If only the rest of us had the same respect and tenderness to this critical environment that sustains us all. I do hope, by know, James Reed was able to repay his mother and his credit card which he used to make this independent doc, which will be a classic record of one remarkable man's life under the sea.

are we too bright too adaptable too resourceful though? The reason we are aware of the problems we are causing to the natural world and the planets climate is born from our technological and scientific advancements. These advancements are only made possible by burning fossil fuels. Our reliance on fossil fuels has given rise to consumerism and a population increase that is simply unsustainable. Its Ironic that the practices that we now view as destructive have given birth to the awareness of the problem. If there is not a global consensus to drastically change the way we live our lives by 2050 I fear it will be a lost cause. The planet is not doomed the planet shall go on it has for billions of years. Its humanity that will be destroyed. We are fighting to protect a way of life that is not the way of life we should be living or teaching to our children. Something extremely drastic is going to have to happen. and we will all have to make sacrifices in our standard of living. Its not up for debate its fact. this species that has become so dominant has to peg itself back. there is no more room for infinite growth. thats it. we are big enough. greed and consumerism has to stop.

Favourite quote and message: "and then we shared life from the stones on the beach" spoken by Nainoa to Craig, recounting their first meeting before entering the domain of the ocean together. This captures the quisessential spirit of awareness, to see that all things are life, weather it is the ever changing pattern of stones on the beach, the energy of a wave, the decision of a human, or the being of a river. We are creatures of our Sun and Earth, and they are great creatures themselves. All life on our planet since the earliest days is the continual expression of this interaction. Every breath we take is the same breath that all life has shared over the past billions of years. We take it in, change it, and give it back. Like every other creature that has ever been. Much appreciation to Craig and Nainoa for your conversation and seeding and nurturing awareness.

Hello Wildscreen. I'm Neo & I'm a Cinematographer & production film company owner in South Africa. I've been searching all over the internet for this sort of content because my interest this year is to hit the ground running & start wildlife filmmaking immediately. I'm also in a fortune position of owning capable film equipment to get me started. My company owns a Canon 50-1000mm lens & I'm planning on going out into the wild with a private ranger soon & getting started. How can I get to join the community?
